From 2014 Bulgaria will have a fiscal council to oversee the budget

From next year Bulgaria will have a fiscal council that will oversee the macroeconomic indexes and the realization of the budget. The council is created in response to an EU Directive, it will consist of 5 members chosen by the Parliament. It will write motivated statements to the Finance Minister regarding acceptance and implementation of the budget. It is not clear, however, what influence the statements will have and whether they will be taken into consideration when making decisions on government level.
